Autodesk Navisworks

This immersive course in Autodesk Navisworks is designed to provide construction professionals, BIM engineers, and project stakeholders with a deep understanding of coordination, clash detection, 4D construction simulation, and project visualization workflows. Autodesk Navisworks is a powerful project review and coordination tool used to identify and resolve design conflicts, improve communication across stakeholders, and streamline the planning-to-execution process in construction and infrastructure projects.

The course begins with an overview of Navisworks’ interface, navigation tools, and file formats, progressing into advanced project coordination techniques. Students will learn how to integrate multiple file types from different disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, civil) into a single federated model for clash detection and model coordination. Special emphasis is placed on conducting clash tests between various systems using Navisworks Manage, reviewing issues, creating viewpoints, and assigning tasks to teams through collaboration platforms like BIM 360.

A major focus of this course is 4D simulation, where time is integrated with the 3D model to simulate construction sequences, visualize workflows, and detect project phasing issues before execution. Learners will also explore quantity takeoff, material tracking, and model-based project scheduling. Through real-world case studies, participants will develop the ability to support smarter decision-making, reduce costly on-site changes, and deliver projects more efficiently.

Upon completion, participants will be capable of leading multidisciplinary coordination meetings, driving BIM-based project delivery, and playing a central role in preconstruction workflows, digital twin planning, and integrated project delivery (IPD).
