Course objective
This course is designed to provide civil and structural engineering professionals with a deep and practical understanding of Autodesk Revit Structure, a core component of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for structural systems. The program aims to transform learners from traditional CAD-based workflows into intelligent, data-driven modelers capable of delivering accurate, coordinated, and constructible structural BIM models across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
The primary objective is to equip participants with the expertise to model and document structural systems, such as beams, columns, foundations, walls, slabs, and rebar—using Revit’s parametric and intelligent modeling environment. The course emphasizes the creation of coordinated multidisciplinary BIM models, focusing on interoperability, automation, and data-rich deliverables like structural plans, sections, rebar schedules, and clash-free coordination with architecture and MEP disciplines.
Learners will gain hands-on experience in real-world project scenarios, mastering industry-standard workflows including analytical modeling, structural analysis integration (via Robot Structural Analysis and others), and construction documentation. The course also includes workflows for linking structural models with platforms such as Navisworks for clash detection, BIM 360 for cloud collaboration, and Dynamo for visual programming and automation.
By the end of the program, learners will be capable of handling complex structural BIM tasks—from conceptual modeling to construction documentation—enabling them to take on roles in BIM coordination, structural design development, and digital project delivery across global AEC sectors.
