Navisworks for 4D Simulation

This intensive course aims to develop expert-level skills in Autodesk Navisworks, the industry-standard software for BIM model coordination, clash detection, 4D construction sequencing, and project collaboration across disciplines. The course is designed to transform architects, civil and MEP engineers, BIM managers, project coordinators, and construction professionals into cross-disciplinary BIM integrators, proficient in aggregating multidisciplinary models and detecting constructability issues well before they reach the job site.

The core objective of the course is to impart mastery over model federation, clash analysis, and time-linked construction simulation, enabling professionals to identify design conflicts, optimize buildability, and enhance communication among stakeholders. With a strong focus on BIM Level 2/3 workflows, learners will be trained to use Navisworks Manage and Simulate to review, coordinate, and validate BIM data in real time, resulting in significant reductions in rework, cost overruns, and on-site delays.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in integrating Revit, Civil 3D, IFC, and AutoCAD models into a central coordination environment. They will learn to perform automated clash detection, generate clash reports, simulate construction schedules (4D) with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, and carry out material takeoffs (5D). The course also covers communication enhancement via Navisworks animations, viewpoint tracking, and quantification tools, as well as cloud integration via BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.

This course prepares professionals to confidently lead coordination meetings, resolve pre-construction issues collaboratively, and establish themselves as leaders in virtual design and construction (VDC) environments—a skillset rapidly becoming non-negotiable across the global AEC industry.
